in Residence
Lucy Finkel received her Bachelor
of Music degree from Grand Valley State University
in Michigan. While in school she was selected to
perform the role of Rose Maurant in Street Scene by Kurt Weil,
and Marenka in the The Bartered Bride by
Smetana. She continued her educational studies at New
England Conservatory in Boston, MA receiving her Master
of Music degree in 2007. At the New England Conservatory
she performed with the opera outreach program as Clara
in Signor Deluso by Thomas Pasatieri. Other
roles performed while at NEC were La Ciesca in Gianni
Schicchi, Jumelle in Orpheus by Darius
Milhaud and Cupid in Offenbach’s Orpheus
in the Underworld. She has also been heard
as Maria in West Side Story with Ash Lawn
Opera Festival, Susannah in Le Nozze di Figaro with
Prelude to Performance, and Lauretta in Gianni
Schicci with both the American Singer’s
Opera Project and Chelsea Opera.

Soprano Jennifer Cresswell is a native of the Toledo
area. She was last seen at Toledo Opera as Alice in The
Adventures of Alice in Operaland in the Education
and Outreach Program, and as Frasquita in the mainstage
production of Carmen. In 2008 Ms. Cresswell
was a regional winner and national finalist in
the National Society of Arts and Letters competition,
as well as a semi-finalist for the Irma Cooper International
Singing Competition. Her collegiate roles include Blanche
in Dialogues of the Carmelites, Blanche DuBois
in A Streetcar Named Desire, and Anna Maurrant
in Streetscene. Ms. Cresswell now lives in
Toledo with her husband Brad Cresswell, Programing
Director with WGTE and their son Elliott.

Tenor Dustin
L. Scott is a native of Southeastern Michigan currently
residing in Ann Arbor. Most
recently he performed the role of Nemorino in L’elisir
d’amore with the Green Mountain Opera Festival
in Vermont, and the title role in John Rutter’s The
Reluctant Dragon as part of the Rackham Symphony
Choir’s Singing it Real outreach program in Detroit.
Mr. Scott completed his Master of Music degree in voice
performance at the University of Michigan, where he
studied with George Shirley. With the University of
Michigan Opera he performed the roles of the Lyric
Tenor in Argento’s Postcard from Morocco,
Ferrando in Così fan tutte, and Principál
komediantů in Smetana’s Prodaná nevĕsta
in The Bartered Bride. As a concert
soloist, Mr. Scott has appeared with the Chamber Choir,
Orpheus Singers, and the Residential College Choir
at the University of Michigan, and has also appeared
with the Ann Arbor Cantata Singers. Most recently he
was heard in a selection of popular songs and arias
with the Windsor Community Orchestra.

Farm-raised baritone Adam Cavagnaro now enjoys
city life in New York where he is completing his Master
of Music Degree at Manhattan School of Music studying
with Mark Oswald. A native of New Jersey, Mr. Cavagnaro
began studying classical voice in his undergraduate
career at Montclair State University with Stephen Oosting.
At Montclair he performed the roles of The Baker in Into
the Woods by Stephen Sondheim, John Sorell in
Menotti’s The Consul, David in Samuel Barber’s
A Hand of Bridge, among others. As a first year masters
student at MSM he performed in the main stage Opera
Studio as Joe Harland in John Musto’s Later the
Same Evening, a New York Premier, and as Bi-Curious
George in Love/Hate by Jack Perla in conjunction with
American Opera Projects. Mr. Cavagnaro recently
returned from OperaWorks in Northridge, CA where he
studied Alexander Technique, Yoga, Laban Movement,
Grotoswki physical theatre and other holistic approaches
to performance under the direction of Ann Baltz.
